Ben Doak's imminent Celtic exit addressed by Ange Postecoglou as he gives updates on Jota and Abada

Ange Postecoglou has side-stepped speculation on youngster Ben Doak's future, reiterating that he won't fight to keep anyone who doesn't want to be at Celtic.

Record Sport revealed in January that Liverpool were tracking the 16-year-old and it emerged on Monday that he is closing in on a move to Anfield.

The appeal of working with Jurgen Klopp at one of the best teams in the world is a big part of the appeal and Celtic appear resigned to losing him.

But Postecoglou wasn't being drawn on the speculation when asked if he had anything to say on the matter.

He said: "Nah, not really. I've said all along, my role in this is to look after the footballers that want to be here.

"The footballers that don't want to be here? There's another avenue there for them."

Asked if it was difficult to see players having their heads turned by the Premier League despite already being at a club the size of Celtic, Postecoglou said: "No, I don't think so.

"When you look at the starting line-up today, there's a few boys who started out as ball boys for our club, you can't tell me they haven't had careers - they've represented their country, they've won trophies.

"There's a couple down south who started here too. People may think going down south is a reward or some guarantee of success, life - and football in general - shows you there are many avenues towards that goal.

"I think you're in a great place here if that's what your end game is."

Meanwhile he has also given an update on the absence of star men Liel Abada and Jota for tonight's Scottish Cup quarter-final against Dundee United.
