Gillingham claimed four points over Easter with a draw at Walsall and win against Accrington Stanley and head to Salford City this Saturday
Manager Gareth Ainsworth is confident of a strong finish this season after an Easter weekend that finally lifted spirits.
The Gills had lost five games in a row before last Friday’s trip to promotion-chasing Walsall, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Ainsworth’s men backed it up with a comfortable 2-0 home win over Accrington Stanley on Monday. They visit Salford on Saturday.
Those points secured the club’s place in League 2 for another season - helping lift some of the gloom around the club.
“It’s been a weird and crazy season,” said the Gills boss.

“It's a massive thing that happened this season and I think credit to the boys, they kept it together really well.
“I believe we’re going to finish strong. I think we’re going to have a real good say in what happens above us and below us and everything.
“Walsall was crazy. It could have gone either way. It was like basketball in the end and a great 2-2, but [Monday] was the real one where I think I felt back to our best and back to what we do to teams.”
