Ben Davies wanted as Rangers transfer exit could spark Harry Souttar arrival

Stoke City are keen on a late loan move for Rangers defender Ben Davies.

City boss Alex Neil is keen to land his former Preston centre-half. Rangers are looking to try to move on the 28-year-old. It depends if the Championship side can meet their financial requirements and persuade Davies to return south of the border. Neil wants him in to bolster Stoke's promotion push. The former Liverpool player is surplus to requirements at Ibrox.

And Michael Beale is keen to free up his wages. Davies’ departure would allow Rangers to launch a late loan bid for Leicester City’s Harry Souttar – although the clock is ticking on that one. The Australian international has fallen down the pecking order with the Foxes and is keen to get first-team football. It’s understood he wants to move to Rangers.
