Ben Davies highlights Joe Rodon and Davinson Sanchez truth as he gives Cristian Romero verdict

Tottenham defender Ben Davies has hailed Joe Rodon and Davinson Sanchez as "great professionals" after having to contend with limited minutes for long periods during the 2021/22 season. With Sanchez starting the term in the team before a period on the bench in October, Cristian Romero's return from a three-month hamstring layoff at the start of February resulted in another spell on the sidelines for the Colombian.

Rodon, on the other hand, only made three Premier League appearances over the course of the campaign with two of those coming in May. The Spurs duo were certainly unlucky due to the form of Eric Dier, Romero and Davies at the back, with the trio forming a solid understanding and helping Tottenham clinch a Champions League place ahead of Arsenal.

Romero has come in for plenty of praise following his summer switch from Atalanta after producing some huge displays at the back, something which has gone down really well with Davies. However, the Welsh international was keen to point out Rodon, Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga's contributions when asked about Romero.

“I include everyone in that – Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon are great professionals, they work hard every single day
