'Beloved son and brother' shown on CCTV hours before he was killed

Police have released CCTV footage capturing the last moments of a Lancashire man found dead in his flat.

Damian Jackson, 50, was found dead inside his property on Regent Street in Lancaster at 11.04am on Tuesday, July 25. A post-mortem found he had died of multiple injuries.

In an emotional tribute, Damian’s family said they were ‘devastated’ by his death and described him as ‘humble and gentle’.

Lancs Live shared a statement from his family, which said: “The whole family is beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved son and brother.

“Damian was humble and gentle, well loved by many across Lancaster, with a great sense of humour. He is much missed by us all and his death has left an enormous hole in our lives.”

The released CCTV footage shows Damian just two days before his death in his last confirmed sighting at the Aldi store on Aldcliffe Road at 10.18am on Sunday, July 23.

Detectives say they want to hear from anyone who remembers seeing him. Officers also want anyone to get in touch if they saw anything unusual or suspicious in Regent Street or the surrounding area between Sunday July 23 and the morning of Tuesday July 25 or any motorists who has dashcam footage.

Detective Chief Inspector Jane Webb of Lancashire Police’s Force Major Incident Team, said: “We continue to appeal for information and help from the public as we look to identify who was responsible for Damian’s death.

“We have a large team of officers working around the clock on this investigation.
