Beck price set, Idah solution and wildcard pitched for £25m void – Celtic transfer latest

Liverpool have reportedly told Celtic their asking price for Owen Beck as he approaches the end of his Anfield contract.

The left-back enjoyed a successful loan spell at Dundee last season and returned to the English Premier League heavyweights mid-season to be assessed by then-boss Jurgen Klopp. The Welshman joined the Reds' first-team squad when the Hoops' showed interest in taking the 21-year-old north of the border agains. However, Beck made his Liverpool debut after the end of his Dens Park loan spell - and scuppered any chance of a Celtic switch due to rules preventing him playing for three clubs in the same season.

But Brendan Rodgers' side have reportedly revived their interest in Beck this summer - with the Liverpool Echo noting that a permanent move to the Scottish Premiership could be on the cards. But is has been claimed that the Parkhead chiefs are yet to meet the valuation the Reds' have for the rising star.

Dave Ockop claim that Rodgers' men are "far from Liverpool’s valuation" at this stage of the window with QPR and Leeds United keen on a loan deal. But with 12 months remaining on Beck's contract it is claimed the club want a £3million payout this summer - if a contract extension cannot be agreed.

Elsewhere, Celtic are looking to bring an end to the Adam Idah transfer saga. After an impressive six-month loan spell in Glasgow's east end last season, Brendan Rodgers has made no secret of the fact he wants to bring the Ireland cap back to the club.
