BBC The One Show viewers fuming after Harry Potter star Bonnie Wright repeatedly mispronounces basic word the American way

BBC The One Show viewers were distressed and distracted as Harry Potter star Bonnie Wright kept mispronouncing a simple word. Bonnie appeared on the One Show to discuss the Big Plastic Count, where householders are encouraged to gather data about how much plastic they’re using.

People were shocked when Maya, a young participant, was interviewed alongside Bonnie and revealed that her household had used 45 pieces of plastic since 8am yesterday (Monday May 16). Viewers were even more horrified, however, at Bonnie’s pronunciation of the simple word ‘data.’ Instead of pronouncing it in the British way - day-ta, she opted for the American version - dah-ta. This did not go down well with the audience.

One viewer took to Twitter to express their horror with an iconic Harry Potter Meme by referencing a Harry Potter quote: “Data? It’s Leviosa, not Leviosar.”

Another wrote: "The consensus seems to be it's Bonnie Wrong not Bonnie Wright when it comes to pronouncing "data" like the sauce I've had on my fish."

“WTF is "dartar".......its data”, expressed another shocked watcher.

Another wrote: “Will someone PLEASE tell Bonnie the word is pronounced “Dayta” NOT “Darta”!”
