BBC The One Show viewers applauded Clive Myrie for his honesty over own Queen doc

The One Show viewers were quick to commend Clive Myrie for his honesty as he appeared on the BBC One show during its first of two Jubilee specials.

Alex Jones and Ronan Keating were hosting the show, which started at an earlier time, on Thursday night (June 2) which was full of content around the Queen's Platinum Jubilee after the celebrations were kicked off with Trooping the Colour before Her Majesty herself led the lighting of beacons across the world.

Among The One Show's guests was newsreader and presenter Clive who was on the magazine show to chat about his own documentary to mark the Queen's 70-year reign. The Bolton-born TV star has delved into the history of the Crown Jewels.

In the BBC One documentary, which airs on Friday night (June 3), Clive will have unique access to the Jewels, as he travels across Britain to discover their stories. And he even gives crown-making a go. Appearing to talk to Alex and Ronan live from Ukraine, the journalist was asked where his interest in the Crown Jewels came from.

He laughed before telling the hosts with brutal honesty: "It's a good question because frankly Alex, I didn't have that much of an interest in the Crown Jewels." He went on to explain: "I'm the product of empire, my parents are from the West Indies. Total honesty.

"I didn't feel any particular affinity to the CJ actually but then I was on the tube one day about two years ago and I saw a poster and it was basically calling the public and visitors to come and see the Crown Jewels at the Tower [of London] and see the crowns and everything and part of the advertising was a little boy of colour who was
