BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans hail 'best ever' moment alongside Claudia Winkleman as demand made

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left hailing the 'best ever' moment on the show during the final of the 2024 series. The latest run of the BBC One dance contest came to and end on Saturday night (December 14)

It was Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell who emerged as the BBC One dance contest's champions this year after they beat Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley.

After being announced as the winner, Chris said: "This is for her (Dianne) and it’s for everyone out there that thought and got told they couldn’t do something. It just shows with opportunity and support and determination, anything can happen."

During the final, Strictly fans were surprised as Ruth Jones joined in on the show ahead of the last-ever episode of Gavin and Stacey this Christmas.

She appeared in the 'Clauditorium' alongside show host Claudia Winkleman as her BBC One sitcom character Vanessa 'Nessa' Jenkins and delivered the terms and conditions of the final vote to viewers.

Ruth was also on hand to reveal the first clips from the final episode of the hugely popular show, which she co-created with James Cordon, which appear to centre around the main characters getting together for a weekend.

But Strictly fans were thrilled to see Ruth involved in the grand final of the dance show's 20th-anniversary series and flocked to social media to comment.
