Former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse has told fans 'I'm not smashing it' as she opened up about a rough couple of days in an honest update after becoming a first-time mum. The dancer has been sharing insights into life as a new parent after welcoming her first child into the world before Christmas.

Oti delighted fans back in July when she was joined by her dancer husband Marius Lepure on her ITV show, stunning their guests and viewers by breaking the news of Oti's pregnancy. Then, on Christmas Day, she confirmed she'd given birth to a baby girl, but didn't confirm exactly when.

Taking to Instagram with a photo, Oti and Marius could be seen beaming with happiness in their matching festive pyjamas. Their newest addition to the family, whose name is yet to be revealed, was safe and sound in Oti's arms while the couple's pet dog also watched over the tot.

Oti has since been giving updates on her new life as a mum-of-one while also being seen back on screens as she returned as a judge on the latest series of Dancing on Ice. She returned to the ice panel earlier this month alongside Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

But in her latest post to Instagram, the 33-year-old spoke about the messages she's been receiving saying, kindly, that she is 'smashing' motherhood so far. However, Oti wanted to be open and honest about how it's not been completely plain sailing and that she found herself crying in her car earlier this week.
