BBC Strictly Come Dancing's JB Gill makes 'gutted' admission as he shares special semi-final news
JB Gill has said he is 'gutted' as he spoke out on making it through to the semi-final of Strictly Come Dancing 2024. The JLS star and his professional partner Lauren Oakley topped the show's Musical Week scoreboard with an almost perfect score of 39 out of a possible 40.
JB and Lauren, who replaced JB's previous dance partner Amy Dowden following the show’s Halloween special after she suffered an injury, were already riding high going into the quarter-final having come joint top of the leaderboard the previous weekend after winning the Samba-Thon.
During the live show on Saturday night (November 30), the pair performed a Viennese waltz to Let’s Go Fly A Kite from Mary Poppins, with the duo hugging at its conclusion as they also closed the last special week of the BBC One dance contest's 2024 series.

Judge Anton Du Beke, who was sporting a technicolour dreamcoat, said of the performance: "I remember in 2014, I danced this number with the wonderful Judy Murray at Blackpool, and you were almost as good as that.

Head judge Shirley Ballas, who was portraying Miss Trunchbull on the night, also said: "An iconic performance, immaculate - the night belongs to you."
It was then confirmed during the week 11 results show on Sunday night (December 1) that JB and Lauren had successfully secured their place in Strictly's semi-final, which will take place this Saturday (December 7).
JB has since taking to social media to reflect on his confirmed fate in the popular dance programme. On Instagram,
