BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Janette Manrara shares 'guilt' while addressing 'mum shaming' comments following birth of baby girl

Janette Manrara has said she 'doesn't understand' as she opened up about the 'mum shaming' she received following the birth of her daughter. The former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer welcomed her first child into the world back in July with her husband Aljaz Skorjanec.

The couple discovered the happy news they were expecting before starting IVF treatment and later welcomed baby girl Lyra Rose via C-section on July 28. They confirmed Lyra's arrival in a social media post shared on both of their Instagram pages featuring the first adorable photo of the new family of three in the hospital.

And after spending some time in their baby bubble, Janette returned to work, starting with hosting BBC's Morning Live before appearing at the helm of Strictly spin-off It Takes Two a couple of nights a week. And fellow former Strictly pro Aljaz has also been dipping in out of work commitments and has recently been seen heading back to work with Janette.

The pair have been hard at work in rehearsals as they are preparing to return to the stage together for their Christmas show, Dancing in a Winter Wonderland with Aljaz and Janette.

But Janette has now opened up about the response she received around returning to work following Lyra's arrival. The 39-year-old took to her Instagram account with a candid video, which she filmed for Morning Live, in which she was heard standing up for why returning to work six weeks after giving birth was the perfect fit for her family of three.
