Janette Manrara has shared an emotional message about her 'journey' with Alajz Skorjanec as it was confirmed he will be returning to Strictly Come Dancing for the 2024 series, two years after leaving fans gutted with his exit.

The 19-time Slovenian champion in Ballroom, Latin and Ten Dance previously appeared on the hit dance show for nine series, lifting the Glitterball in his debut year with Abbey Clancy in 2013 before later being runner-up in 2017 with celebrity partner, and now friend, Gemma Atkinson.

But it was revealed on Monday night (July 8) that fan-favourite dancer Aljaz will be waltzing back onto our screens for the 20th year of the BBC One dance contest.

After he revealed the news live on The One Show, Aljaz then took to social media and shared a snap of himself appearing all suited and booted. Alongside it, Aljaz wrote: "Here it goes... @bbcstrictly is back for the 20th anniversary this autumn…. and so am I!"

He added: "So grateful for this very special opportunity. Can’t wait to be back in that iconic ballroom, and to get the chance for my little one to see me on the best show on TV #lifeisbeautiful #keepdancing."

Janette was also quick to respond to the news and shared a sweet snap of the pair to Instagram taken during their first year on Strictly together back in 2013. Another picture showed the pair showing off their own moves having toured the country multiple times with their own show before the dancer-turned-presenter finished with an adorable photo of Aljaz and their daughter, Lyra
