BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans rush to pay tribute on Robin Windsor's 'dark' last social media post before tragic death

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been rushing to share their tributes and messages following the news Robin Windsor has died, aged 44. The BBC One show's former star joined the hit dance show in 2010.

In his first year he was paired with EastEnders star Patsy Kensit but had to leave four years later due to an injury. The closest he got to winning was coming in fifth place with Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley in 2012, with the popular pairing finishing in 5th place. Other partners included actress Anita Dobson and Dragons' Den's Deborah Meaden.

The company he co-founded, Burn The Floor, had confirmed the news in the early hours of Tuesday morning (February 20). The international Ballroom & Latin dance company told fans: "The Burn the Floor family has lost one of its founding members, Robin “Bobby” Windsor - who has tragically passed away.

"A BTF journeyman he danced with us for twenty years - including Broadway, The West End and all our crazy adventures around the world. His stunning image attached with Jessica Raffa defined our company, colourful, extreme and sensual. His talent, attitude, energy and personality helped create the Burn the Floor stage reputation. He leaves a void in our hearts that will never be filled, yet our wonderful memories will stay forever."

Tributes have since been pouring in for the Ipswich-born dance star who started dancing at the age of three, when his parents took him to the Ipswich School of Dancing before, at the age of 15, he moved to London to pursue his career as a dancer.
