BBC Breakfast viewers call out 'secret' location being exposed in awkward on-air blunder

During Tuesday's episode of BBC Breakfast, presenters Jon Kay and Sarah Campbell discussed the recent changes at the National Grid.

They informed viewers that the system operating it has now been transferred to public ownership.

Their colleague Justin Rowlatt, was reporting live from the control centre and provided further details on the subject.

He commented: "This is quite unusual to be given permission to come into this room. You come through an airlock, the location is top secret, and it is bombproof.

"This place is a bit of critical national infrastructure because it runs the entire electricity system for the UK."

However, viewers quickly spotted a significant error made by the broadcaster when the "secret" location was revealed on-screen., reports the Express.

One viewer quipped: "'The location is top secret' Is it though? #BBCBreakfast"

Another remarked: "Top secret location...Live in Wokingham".

While a third viewer noted: "Funny how BBC Breakfast says they are at a top-secret location yet it says live from Wokingham at the top of my screen."

Someone else added: "Secret location [wink emoji]"

Later in the programme, viewers watched as Jon and sports correspondent John Watson shared a humorous exchange about their singing abilities.

John played a pre-recorded clip of England cricket captain Heather Knight discussing a singalong with Nat Sciver while overseas, which sparked an idea in his mind.

He remarked: "I think I'd be singing if I was leaving this weather behind, wouldn't you?" Yet Jon Kay didn't share the same level of enthusiasm, responding: "Please don't John, please don't!"

Visibly disappointed with his co-hosts reaction, he said: "Come on, can't I? Please come on!"
