BBC Breakfast host speechless as guest warns 'do not mess with me' in tense moment

BBC Breakfast's Jon Kay was slightly taken aback on Tuesday morning during a conversation with former 'Great British Bake Off' favourite Sandi Toksvig.

In their discussion, Jon mentioned he had recently heard a radio interview in which the 66 year old talked about her new hobby using a chainsaw.

Sandi's humorous response was: "Don't mess with me, darling. Do not mess with me!"

The exchange prompted laughter from Jon and co-presenter Sally Nugent as he jokingly responded: "I wouldn't dare anyway." Revealing more of her feisty nature, she declared: "I am that feisty old lady!", reports the Express.

Providing further insights, Sandi recounted how extortionate quotes for chainsaw work inspired her to take matters into her own hands, saying: "I thought, it can't be that difficult. Boys can do it, so surely I can do it. I got myself a chainsaw and I love it."

Expressing a deep affection for the tool, Sandi confessed: "I mean I love it in a slightly worrying way. I think it's marvellous."

Sally expressed curiosity about why Sandi would need such equipment, prompting an explanation about rehabilitating an unmanaged piece of ancient woodland, choked with overgrown holly.

Describing the rewarding experience, Sandi said: "It's choking with holly and holly can grow to the size of a large tree trunk."

Highlighting the project's impact on the environment, she continued: "We're clearing it and when you watch the sunlight come down onto the forest floor for the first time in over 100 years, it's fantastic."

Finally, Sandi proudly shared the positive ecological results of their labour, specifically the flourishing native bluebells: "Honestly, it makes you feel thrilled. It's one of the best things that I do."

Jon quipped about the danger
