BBC Bafta viewers 'moved to tears' as Hannah Waddingham performance branded 'perfection'

Actress Hannah Waddingham moved Bafta viewers to tears as she performed a stunning rendition of Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time at Sunday night's awards ceremony.

The star-studded event saw Christopher Nolan epic Oppenheimer sweep up, winning seven awards including best film, best director, best actor for Cillian Murphy and best supporting actor for Robert Downey Jr. Meanwhile, Emma Stone was named best actress for Poor Things, the fairytale adaptation of the novel of the same name, which won five gongs in total.

The awards ceremony, held at London's Royal Festival Hall and hosted by Scottish actor David Tennant, also paid tribute to some great names in the film industry who sadly passed away in recent months. During the in memoriam segment of the show, British actress Hannah Waddingham took to the stage to perform her pared down version of the 1983 hit.
