Bayer Leverkusen 'set Florian Wirtz asking price' and other Man City transfer rumours

Manchester City would need to pay around €100million to sign Florian Wirtz - according to reports.

Speculation over the Germany starlet and his future with Bayer Leverkusen continues to mount and City are among top European clubs to have been heavily linked with his signature. Several publications have outlined proposed interest from the Etihad Stadium over the last few days.

However, a would-be transfer fee has been a relatively grey area in that respect until now. Wirtz is understood to have Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid keeping tabs on his situation.

Reports from Fichajes indicate Leverkusen might be willing to cash in on the teenager this summer when the market reopens. Ultimately, though, it could take nine figures to land him.

Wirtz has earned rave reviews while carving out his reputation in the Bundesliga and a big-money move is on the cards for him. Already capped four times by the national team, versatile Wirtz has two goals and six assists to his name from 13 matches in all competitions this season.

He can operate in central midfield as well as further forward in numerous attacking positions.

Elsewhere, reports from the same Fichajes publication suggest City would be willing to trade in Joao Cancelo in order to sign former Arsenal forward Serge Gnabry next season. Despite his struggles in the Premier League, the 27-year-old has taken his game to another level since heading to the Allianz Arena.

Cancelo, meanwhile, is currently on loan with the German heavyweights. Bayern have an option to make that loan signing permanent when the market reopens, while they are thought to be open to letting Gnabry move on after he joined them from Werder Bremen coming up
