Baslow stabbing: Man arrested for attempted murder after woman stabbed
A man has been arrested in Cheshire after a woman was stabbed at a house in a Peak District village. Officers were called out to a property on Wheatlands Lane in Baslow, Derbyshire, at 2pm today (February 15) following reports a woman had been stabbed.
The woman, aged in her 50s, was taken to hospital. She is currently being treated for her injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening, according to Derbyshire Police.
Shortly before 5.20pm, officers from Cheshire Police stopped a vehicle just outside Northwich, more than 40 miles from the scene of the stabbing. Police arrested a man, also in his 50s, on suspicion of attempted murder.

The man remains in police custody this evening (Thursday). Derbyshire Police says the suspect and victim are known to one another and there is no wider risk to the public.
