Barry Ferguson reveals Connor Barron doubts over Rangers move and how one key trait has won him over

Barry Ferguson may have had doubts over Connor Barron's arrival at Rangers - but the Ibrox hero has been completely won over by ONE key trait he has displayed.

Philippe Clement moved to bring in the midfielder from Aberdeen in the summer and he has quickly established himself as a key member of the Belgian's midfield trio. It's been a tough start to life at the Light Blues with a Champions League exit coming in the third qualifying round to Dynamo Kyiv and a first derby defeat of the season at Celtic last time out leaving the Ibrox men trailing their big rivals by five points after just four games. It was a tough afternoon for Barron and Co who went down 3-0 at Parkhead.

Rangers hero Ferguson - in the stands in Glasgow's east end - says he will take the HEART shown by the midfielder all day long and believes any team would have a much better chance of success if they had a starting XI showing a similar mentality. His initial arrival at Ibrox left question marks for the Record Sport columnist and Go Radio pundit, but his displays have left the legendary skipper impressed. Celtic hero and fellow studio guest Peter Grant shared a similar view, hailing the youngster for showing guts and courage. He believes they are key characteristics if you are going to make the grade at Celtic or Rangers.

Peter Grant: "I thought he showed great guts. In all the games I have seen, because it is not easy to play for Rangers just now, and I have been there myself as a Celtic player when you are under pressure as an individual. You've got to show guts and fight."

Barry Ferguson: "Do you know what he is showing? Heart. I will take that all day long. If you had 11 players like that, you would have a better chance."
