Shamrock Rovers to welcome RTÉ cameras following talks

Shamrock Rovers have confirmed that, following a meeting between the club, the FAI and RTÉ Sport, the club's fixture against Sligo Rovers on 13 September will be broadcast live on RTÉ television.

Rovers had previously said that they were "considering if they will facilitate any future requests" for RTÉ to televise their League of Ireland home matches this season.

This came after it was confirmed their two-legged Europa League play-off tie with Greek side PAOK would not be shown by RTÉ.

"It was a productive meeting; a professional, informative and respectful sharing of views which allowed all parties understand clearly the realities facing each other.

"The expectation is that, with the strategic input of the FAI, media broadcasters and critically, the professional football clubs, this will result in the continual improvement of TV coverage of Irish football teams across the football season.
