Baby girl dies after her dad reversed over her as she sat on driveway

A 19-month-old girl died after her father reversed his BMW over her, moments after she had sat down on the family's driveway. An inquest heard how Haniyah Bint Vaqas Younis had been playing in the back garden minutes before tragedy struck.

She then wandered down a path by the side of her family home, through an unsecured gate, and sat in the blind spot of her dad's BMW 3 Series. Haniyah was described as 'healthy, happy and vibrant' before the accident, Yorkshire Live reports. The incident unfolded on Saturday, May 21 last year, at her family's home on Millwater Avenue in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
