Aymeric Laporte returns in triple change as Man City fans choose line-up to face Leicester City

Manchester City supporters are calling for Pep Guardiola to bring defenders Aymeric Laporte and Kyle Walker back into the starting line-up for the visit of Leicester City.

Laporte, 28, has been an unused substitute in each of City's last seven matches on either side of the international break and has not played a minute since playing the full 90 in February's 1-1 draw away to Nottingham Forest. The Spain international initially dropped out of the side due to illness but has failed to force his way back onto the pitch since.

City fans also want to see Walker, 32, come into the side and facilitate a formation change to a 4-3-3. Manuel Akanji and John Stones would drop out from Pep Guardiola's midweek starting XI against Bayern Munich.

Ederson will start a 30th Premier League match of the season and continue his ever-present record in goal. In front of him, Ruben Dias partners Laporte with Nathan Ake on the opposite flank to Walker.

Rodri remains to anchor the midfield after Wednesday's goalscoring exploits alongside Kevin de Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan. Further forward, there is a third change as Riyad Mahrez returns against his former employers despite Bernardo Silva's fine midweek performance.

Four days separate Saturday evening's game and the Champions League second leg in Munich, which could be the reason for rotation, as the FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United also follows next weekend. Rounding out the XI, Jack Grealish continues in the front three supporting Erling Haaland.
