Austrian GP Weekend Schedule: When does the race start?
Formula 1 returns this weekend as the Austrian Grand Prix plays host to round 11 of the world championship, and the midpoint of the campaign.
The British Grand Prix is still firmly in the memory after what proved a dramatic, tense and ultimately entertaining weekend at Silverstone.
F1 waits for no-one, though, and all 20 drivers will be focusing on this weekend and trying to get a positive result in Spielberg.
When are the all-important session times, then? We take a look – with Sprint returning for the second time this year…
Friday
On Friday, we have a practice session and then qualifying, in the different layout that a Sprint weekend brings.
FP1 will take place at 12:30 UK time in the afternoon, before qualifying gets going at 4pm UK time, which will set the grid for the Sprint on Saturday.
Saturday
Saturday sees another practice session followed by Sprint.
FP2 begins at 11:30am UK time whilst the Sprint is at 3:30pm UK time in the afternoon, and is expected to last just shy of an hour.
The Sprint result will set the grid for Sunday’s Grand Prix, with the top eight earning points.
Sunday
The Grand Prix gets underway at 2pm UK time, with 71 laps of the circuit scheduled.
