Atalanta boss makes Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United transfer admission

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has admitted his club may have to consider a huge offer from Manchester United for Rasmus Hojlund if it is submitted.

Having signed Mason Mount and Andre Onana this month, the Reds are now fully focused on strengthening their forward options. After initially setting Harry Kane as their main target, United were soon forced to scrap the pursuit over concerns Tottenham Hotspur would not be willing to sell.

Ten Hag has now shifted his attention towards Hojlund who scored ten goals for the Serie A club last season. MEN Sport understands the Reds' manager has undertaken several video calls with the 20-year-old to try and persuade him to move to Old Trafford.

When asked about Hojlund potentially joining United, Gasperini insisted the striker was still happy at the Italian club. He told reporters: "Hojlund and Man United? Sometimes there are choices to make and also agents…

"We all have to consider the financial factor. He’s very happy here, I’d love to keep Rasmus of course but sometimes clubs and also players have to consider huge bids."

Earlier this week, Gasperini appeared to set a big price tag on his forward which United may not be willing to match due to their current financial constraints. "He undoubtedly has great talent, but also great room for improvement," the head coach said.
