'Astonishing' - TalkSPORT man left shocked at what he's 'hearing' from Leeds fans

The Yorkshire club dropped into the bottom three on Sunday as they lost 2-1 at home to Arsenal and things got even worse last night as the Whites suffered defeat again.

The American head coach was appointed by Leeds officials at the end of February after a 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur saw Bielsa sacked and a fifth defeat in six games left Leeds just two points above the relegation zone but Collymore believes that the fans are still with Bielsa and has urged Marsch to get out while he can.

He wrote in his Mirror column:

‘If I was Jesse Marsch, I’d pack my bags at the end of the season and get myself back to the Bundesliga or a big job in the MLS.

“Because the narrative I’m hearing from Leeds fans right now tells me so many of them have disappeared down the rabbit hole of the cult of personality that I find it, frankly, astonishing.

“There seems to be absolutely no dissection of the job Marcelo Bielsa did and the state he left their club in. Instead, it’s all, ‘This is really bad from Marsch and we sacked a legend, an icon, for it. Why?’

Although the club never entered the bottom three under their previous manager, he did leave them with an unwanted record of conceding the most goals (20) in a single month in Premier League history which has seriously hampered their goal difference (-38) should relegation be decided on that account. 

Marsch could be the key in luring long-term target Brenden Aaronson to Elland Road this summer but all transfers will seriously hinge on the outcome of their season.

Marsch has said that he will stay at the club even if they are relegated to the Championship and perhaps he could gain the trust of supporters that way but if they are to avoid the drop then surely he can win the Whites’
