Aston Villa transfer yet to receive the 'green light' ahead of deadline day
Aston Villa winger Trezeguet is wanted by Istanbul Basaksehir on loan but the club has yet to give the go-ahead for the deal.
The Turkish side are eager to secure the Egyptian international ahead of the window closing at 11pm tomorrow but Villa have yet to 'green light' his exit, according to the Athletic.
Trezeguet is currently away with Egypt on African Cup of Nations duty and scored the winner in their 2-1 win over Morocco.
The winger's first-team chances appear limited given Leon Bailey is returning to fitness while Philippe Coutinho has also joined on a loan deal from Barcelona to further restrict his opportunities.
And now it is believed that head coach Steven Gerrard is ready to grant the 27-year-old's exit in order to give him valuable minutes at club level.
