Aston Villa sanction Louie Barry loan move following Ipswich Town recall

Aston Villa's young hot shot Louie Barry has signed for Swindon Town for the remainder of the season on loan.

The 18-year-old had returned to Villa from a disappointing spell down at Ipswich Town earlier this month where he made just six appearances.

Swindon manager Ben Garner, meanwhile, was present for Barry's return for Villa's under-23s last week against West Brom while, on Monday (January 24), the striker was watched again as he got back amongst the goals during an eye-catching performance against Reading at Bodymoor Heath.

Villa, meanwhile, were pleased with Town's handling of Kaine Kesler-Hayden during his loan stint this season, with both clubs having built a strong relationship over the course of this season.

Director of football for Swindon, Ben Chorley, said: “Louie comes to us with undoubted ability.

“He has been on the biggest of stages for such a young man. Over the last three weeks we’ve watched every minute of his games live and been in constant dialogue with his club.

“The people at Aston Villa we have a fantastic relationship with and we thank them for believing in our methods to progress Louie further.

“We wish him all the best in our second-half of the campaign.”

Earlier this month, Villa sanctioned fresh loan moves for Jaden Philogene-Bidace (Stoke), Keinan Davis (Forest), Cameron Archer (Preston), Aaron Ramsey (Cheltenham), Arjan Raikhy (Grimsby), Seb Revan (Hereford) and Caleb Chukwuemeka (Livingston).

Fellow under-23 performers Brad Young, Mungo Bridge, Tyreik Wright and Dom Revan are expected to head out on loan once again prior to Monday's deadline.
