Aston Villa favourites to complete double swoop as 13 transfers tipped

Aston Villa have already announced three deals before the transfer window has even opened and reports claim that Steven Gerrard's business in the market is far from complete.

Villa have signed Philippe Coutinho on a permanent transfer while Diego Carlos and Boubacar Kamara have also joined ahead of what is a crucial 2022/23 campaign. The club has spent over £350million on transfer fees alone since gaining promotion back to the Premier League in 2019 and there are no signs of that spending slowing down amid the club's lofty ambitions to break into the top six.

Gerrard wants to continue adding quality to his squad in the coming months and he will be handed the funds necessary to do just that. Ahead of the window opening in June, bookmakers Sky Bet have tipped Villa to sign more stars.

The striker has just left Atletico Madrid at the end of his two-year contract and Villa are among the clubs interested in signing him on a free transfer. Suarez has already signalled his intention to stay in Europe this summer and he has strongly been linked with a reunion with former Liverpool team-mate Gerrard.

Transfer expert Ekrem Konur recently took to Twitter to issue an update on Villa's interest in the striker this summer. He said: "Aston Villa intends to offer Luis Suarez a contract until 2024. The Uruguayan star is excited to return to the Premier League."
