Aston Villa fans issue transfer demand as Steven Gerrard forced into change vs Norwich

Steven Gerrard was forced into an early change in the first half of Aston Villa’s Premier League clash against Norwich City.

Jamaican international Leon Bailey has had an injury-hit first season at Villa Park, meaning he has had to settle for making just 18 appearances so far, with most of them coming from the bench. However, the forward has started Villa's last two league games, including the clash vs Norwich this afternoon. But he lasted just under 40 minutes before being replaced by Danny Ings.

Bailey attempted to continue after going down under a challenge from the opposition, but was unable to make it to half time.

Within minutes of the change being made, Villa took the lead through Ollie Watkins. Ings played the ball over the top with one of his first touches, with Watkins making no mistakes against Tim Krul.

Bailey was bought to Villa Park by Dean Smith in the summer, with the former manager making his first return to the stadium since leaving the club back in November. Should Villa hold on for all three points, it will end a winless run of six games.

Following the early substitution, Villa fans showed their disappointment of Bailey’s injury record after much excitement over his signing in the summer. Here’s what just some had to say.
