Aston Villa: £75k-a-week star now 'big concern' at Villa Park

Aston Villa and Ollie Watkins will both be concerned by his lack of goals right now, says journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The striker is not in the best form at present and failed to score once again in the Villans’ 2-0 defeat to Chelsea over the weekend.

In 11 games in all competitions, Watkins has registered just once, which came in a 3-1 loss against Crystal Palace back in August.

He is not the only Villa player struggling, though. When it comes to finding the back of the net, Steven Gerrard’s side as a whole have had a hard time.

With just seven Premier League goals to their name in the current campaign, only Wolves (four) have scored fewer.

Until Gerrard solves the issue, you suspect that the Midlands club are going to continue to struggle.

O'Rourke is worried by what he has seen from £75,000-a-week Watkins and Villa's attack in general.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: "Obviously, as a striker, you are judged on your number of goals and he's not scored enough goals for Villa.

The 30-year-old has been in and out of the Villans' starting XI this season, but his boss may now be weighing up giving him a run of starts as a lone striker amid his team-mate's struggles.

Ings is a very capable forward, having scored over 100 goals in his career, so he is obviously not a bad alternative to have.

Of course, the Englishman has also had his struggles at Villa
