Arsenal's Hale End trio primed for Premier League debuts ahead of Wolves and Brentford games

Arsenal failed to bring in any senior players during the January transfer window which has opened up a can of worms and questions regarding the competitiveness of the squad for the remaining seventeen games of the season.

The striker department in particular will see Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah remain the only senior options for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta as they chase a top-four place.

The defence was significantly trimmed with Sead Kolasinac and Calum Chambers leaving on permanent deals to Marseille and Aston Villa respectively. Whilst Pablo Mari and Ainsley Maitland-Niles left on loan, and can both feature in the back four if necessary.

With this, there is an increased chance that some of the youth squad will again see a greater chance of a call-up to the first team.

The games throughout January saw Charlie Patino, Mika Biereth, Omari Hutchinson, Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand and Ryan Alebiosu all given places on the bench.

Only Patino featured against Nottingham Forest in the 1-0 FA Cup third round defeat with the rest effectively just making up the numbers on the Arsenal substitutes bench. Alebiosu has also since left to join Crewe on loan till the end of the season.

However, with further players out the door and the threat of future injuries, suspensions and Covid-19 absences always a possibility some have a better chance than others to make their Premier League debuts this season.

The most likely is Mika Biereth after the failure to sign a striker this window and both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaving on a free to Barcelona whilst Folarin Balogun joined Middlesbrough on loan.
