Arsenal: Edu could now make 'big money signing' at the Emirates

Arsenal could still bring another big-name signing to the Emirates before the end of the summer transfer window according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

Mikel Arteta is bolstering his squad ahead of the return of European football and after missing out on Raphinha the Spaniard may now be eyeing other high-profile targets.

The signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City will likely prove to be the biggest moment of the summer for Arsenal with a new man ready to lead the line next season.

Fabio Vieira, although a midfielder by trade, has previously impressed out wide for Porto too so also provides an option for Arteta in attack.

But it appears that another attacker remains on the agenda at the Emirates. The Gunners pushed hard to sign Raphinha from Leeds this summer only for Chelsea to sneak ahead of them and have a bid accepted.

Nevertheless, the Brazilian had his heart set on a move to Barcelona and eventually got his way.

Reports have since linked Arsenal with moves for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio and Lyon’s Lucas Paqueta as Arteta and Edu look to add the finishing touches to their side.

Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “If they’re looking at Raphinha, maybe they’ve got somebody else in mind in that right wing area to bring in. So it could be another big money, big name signing for Arsenal. There’s still plenty of time left in this transfer window.”

While Arsenal are not spoilt for choice when it comes to right-wingers, they do boast one of the Premier League’s most exciting options in that area in Bukayo Saka.

Transfers may be a big focus at the Emirates this summer but tying the 20-year-old to a new deal remains a top priority as well.
