Arijanet Muric to Burnley : Is it a good potential move? Would he start? What does he offer?

Burnley are interested in signing Manchester City goalkeeper Arijanet Muric, a report from The Athletic has claimed.

Muric has only ever featured five times for City since joining the club in 2015, with all of those outings coming in the League Cup.

The Kosovo international has instead spent much of his time out on loan elsewhere, and it seems he could be on the move again this summer.

According to this latest update, Burnley are working on a deal to sign the 23-year-old, although Turkish side Adana Demirspor, where Muric spent last season on loan, are apparently also keen.

A move to Burnley for Muric could create plenty of intrigue, so with that in mind, we’ve taken a look at some of the big questions that could be asked about this transfer, right here.

Is it a good potential move?

This could be a useful move for Burnley to get done.

The Lancashire club certainly need a goalkeeper, following the departure of Nick Pope to Newcastle United earlier in the summer.

New Clarets boss Vincent Kompany has already raided his old club for two centre backs during the current window in CJ Egan-Riley and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, so there is a precedent for this deal to be done as well.

However, given Muric made a number of costly errors during his last temporary spell in the Championship with Nottingham Forest during the 2019/20 season, this move would not be without some risk.

Would he start?

You do get the feeling that Muric would get plenty of opportunities if he moved to Turf Moor.

Given Pope’s aforementioned departure, the number one spot between the posts is certainly up for grabs at Burnley this season, especially with Wayne Hennessey linked with a move away as well.
