Antony told what he must improve at Manchester United following Arjen Robben comparison

Antony must improve his decision-making to take his game to the next level, according to former Manchester United assistant Rene Meulensteen.

The winger produced a magical goal for United against Real Betis in the Europa League that earned him a comparison with Arjen Robben. The Brazilian cut inside and curled home United's crucial second as they secured a 4-1 first-leg lead over Betis in the Europa League last-16 tie at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

But Meulensteen, part of the Five Live team watching the game, believes the 23-year-old still has work to do, citing an attempted scoop finish that failed to find the net with teammates waiting for a square pass and a tap in as an example of where the former Ajax man can still improve.

Meulensteen feels there is more to come from the wideman, and that Erik ten Hag will work with the Brazil international to help develop his game.

"Erik will be critical about that and he will highlight that," said the Dutchman, who was first-team coach at United between 2007 and 2013, of his attempted scoop. "There will be more moments like it and it is the decision-making moment.

"Why do you make the decision? Is it to polish your own ego and get a goal? Or is to get the goal that is so important for the team. To keep moving in the right direction you have to make the right decisions."

Meulensteen, 58, was impressed by Antony's finish early in the second period to restore United's advantage, comparing him to former Netherlands international Robben.
