Manchester United transfer news RECAP takeover updates

Manchester United face Real Betis in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie later this evening.

Erik ten Hag's side hold a 4-1 aggregate lead over the La Liga outfit, with Marcus Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst all on target for the Reds in the first leg at Old Trafford.

United will be without Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Anthony Martial for the clash with Manuel Pellegrini's side - with all three attackers sidelined through injury or illness. Despite this, the Reds boss confirmed that Fernandes and Casemiro would both start the game.

Away from the pitch, the club continue to monitor Napoli ace Victor Osimhen ahead of a potential summer move for the striker, while Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane is also a target for Ten Hag. Meanwhile, Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani's representatives are due at Old Trafford today, while Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to attend a presentation by senior management staff on Friday.

Pereira will be reunited with several former teammates at Old Trafford, but singled out Rashford for praise when speaking toESPN:

"I've known Marcus for a very, very long time. He's a great guy and I think the difference this season is the manager has shown a lot of faith in him and given him a lot of confidence, just letting him play his game.
