Antony and Amad Diallo send Manchester United messages after win vs Lyon

Antony was among the Manchester United players to share their satisfaction shortly after Wednesday's 1-0 win over Lyon in Edinburgh.

United picked up their second win of pre-season with another dominant performance at Murrayfield. Donny van de Beek scored the only goal of the game shortly after half-time, controlling a brilliant finish into the far corner from Dan Gore's cross.

Erik ten Hag's side could have been far more comfortable in their lead, were it not for some wasteful finishing in the first half. But the Dutchman will be pleased with another promising run out and the return of some senior players.

RATINGS: Mainoo impressive and Martinez classy vs Lyon

Antony was the most notable returnee, having not been involved in last week's trip to Oslo. The Brazilian was stretchered off in United's penultimate Premier League game against Chelsea last season, with Wednesday's start marking his return.

And after completing 45 minutes, the winger tweeted: "So happy to be back!! Very motivated for this season, I'm sure we'll give the fans a lot of joy!!! Let's go together!! We are United! [fire emoji]".

Amad enjoyed a second start of pre-season and again showed plenty of promise as he hopes to build on a successful loan spell with Sunderland. The 21-year-old is in contention for a first-team place, should he impress Ten Hag this summer.

He tweeted: "We Keep pushing [fire emoji, clapping emoji] the goals will come, you should never be in a hurry. [winking emoji]".

Argentinian defender Lisandro Martinez tweeted: "Nice test to continue our preparations ahead of our trip".
