Ange takes aim at Bayern Munich over Harry Kane transfer bid as Germans told to 'do what they want'

Ange Postecoglou has fired a well-measured jibe at Bayern Munich after hitman Harry Kane silenced critics with four goals in pre-season for Tottenham.

And the former Celtic boss wasn't hesitant on making his feeling clear on the transfer saga that has consumed the early period of his tenure at Spurs. Postecoglou received a heroes welcome from the packed crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium as they pulled the curtain down on a busy pre-season with a 5-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk, a side his Hoops team tussled with in the Champions League last campaign. Hitman Kane was the talk of the town as he put transfer business to one side by netting four goals.

The Bundesliga giants have courted the England international for some time with an £80million bid said to be the threshold for Daniel Levy and co to get around the table, with Munich chiefs speaking openly about Kane and their pursuit. That's something Postecoglou was irked by and after his home debut, the Aussie hit out with a barb at the German outfit.

He said: "I certainly wouldn't talk about contracted players at other clubs. I'm not at Bayern though so they can do what they want. There's no doubt that I would use Harry. I didn't need today to tell me that. He's world class. The way this team will play will help him as well. We'll create a lot of chances for him."
