Ange Postecoglou tells Celtic fan club Down Under 'you can hold onto your gear for a while'

Chuffed Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou admits it's brilliant to experience first-hand the added interest in the Scottish Premiership champions Down Under.

And the 57-year-old has moved again to reassure Parkhead supporters he's not going anywhere. It comes amid recent links with Brighton before being namechecked as an option to succeed Brendan Rodgers at toiling Leicester City. Postecoglou is back in his homeland on a promotional tour ahead of his side's involvement in the Sydney Super Cup.

And he has been keen to dismiss speculation over his long-term Celtic future amid a host of plaudits. The former Socceroos boss' brand of football and success on the pitch have resulted in Scottish Premiership title glory, as well as an encouraging start to the club's Champions League campaign.

But the man himself has told punters who have invested in Celtic merchandise they have nothing to worry about. Speaking on SEN Sports he said: "It's been funny, my mates are probably the best example of that, they've gone through some different coloured shirts over the last few years, different nations. You can hold onto the Celtic gear for a while, mate. I'm happy with it. It's going really well. Here in Australia, it was already a really strong following, it seems like everyone now is following the progress of the club because of my association, it's brilliant to see."

Postecoglou will return to Australia in November for two fixtures including a clash with Frank Lampard's Everton.
