Ange Postecoglou takes Celtic 'tap in' option after Tottenham query as 2 priorities named amid Premier League noise

Smirking Ange Postecoglou admits to taking the Celtic 'tap in' response to speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham this summer.

The Celtic boss has been named as the leading candidate for the vacant hot seat in North London after Feyenoord boss Arne Slot pulled out of the running and penned a new deal with Eredivisie champions. Spurs' chief Daniel Levy has been on the lookout for a new boss since Antonio Conte was axed two months ago, with the Italian's assistant Christian Stellini hired and fired as interim manager before Ryan Mason stepped into the hot seat on a caretaker basis.

A permanent boss is key for the club as they face a massive summer overhaul and risk losing Harry Kane with the England captain heavily linked with a switch to Manchester United this summer. Postecoglou is at the centre of the latest noise coming out of the Premier League giants - having previously been touted for a move to Leeds United, Everton and Chelsea.

Asked if he had heard about the swirling Tottenham rumours after being touted for several jobs in England's top flight this term, Postecoglou said before the clash with Aberdeen: "I'm aware of it because everyone keeps asking me about it.

"But as you said to tap in the pass I've been pretty clear that it's just not the way I think and work. My priority right now is just looking at trying to make sure we have a special day tomorrow and we have a big cup final coming up in a weeks' time.

"I'm not going to sit there and try and get distracted by things that are fascinating for other people rather than myself. That's where my focus is and that's where it will continue to be.
