Ange Postecoglou 'set for' Scotland return as ex Celtic boss plots Tottenham stop before Asia tour

Ange Postecoglou is reportedly set to bring his Tottenham team up to Scotland for a pre-season friendly next summer.

The experienced Australian coach broke Celtic hearts when he opted to jump ship to the Premier League last summer, leaving Parkhead fresh off the back of a domestic treble. The 58-year-old has quickly set about implementing his energetic, high-tempo style of play in North London and after 26 matches, Spurs sit just five points off the Champions League places with a game in hand on the team they are chasing Aston Villa.

And according to football.london's Tottenham correspondent Alistair Gold, Postecoglou is likely to take his side north of the border for a friendly encounter before they jet off to Asia for a pre-season tour next July. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Gold wrote: "Understand Spurs could potentially play a pre-season friendly in Scotland ahead of their three-game Asia tour this summer as Ange Postecoglou gets his squad ready for next season."

Scotland has played host to some stellar Premier League clubs in recent years, with West Ham taking on Dundee in the summer of 2022 while Liverpool and Manchester played friendly matches at Murrayfield in 2019 and 2023 respectively.
