Ange Postecoglou's Celtic fear factor summed up as Craig Moore shares brutal response to former Hibs star's concerns

Ange Postecoglou isn’t particularly close with his players and prefers to keep a certain distance in order to maintain the air of authority that leaves no-one in any doubt who the boss is.

It’s proved a successful approach for the Aussie and Celtic so far, with two League Cups and one Scottish Premiership title in the bag, while a second could be confirmed against Hearts on Sunday. There’s also the small matter of a potential Treble, with Celtic one victory over Inverness CT away from scooping the lot this season.

Craig Moore knows his compatriot well, having worked with the Australian Football federation while Postecoglou was national team boss. And the more aloof approach is perfectly highlighted by an anecdote Moore shared regarding former Hibs star Mark Milligan, who was taken aback by the contrast in the manager’s demeanour since playing under him domestically in the A League compared to the Socceroos.

Moore told Go Radio: “Mark Milligan that used to play with Hibs, great lad. He had worked with Ange at Melbourne Victory and this was during the Asian Cup.

“We’re in training camp and he comes up to me and says: ‘Moorey, Ange isn;t even talking to me, what’s up?’

“I was player liaison manager at the time so told him to leave it with me and I’d speak to Ange. So over lunch I went to Ange and said: ‘Listen Ange, Millsy isn't too happy, he says you;re really different to how you were at club level. He just said: ‘Yeah? He’ll get over it.”

“Now I know he had a lot of time for Millsy. But that just showed how he was. He almost creates a walking on eggshells atmosphere. I told Millsy: 'You'll be alright mate!"
