Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic efforts are being 'noticed and respected' in Germany reveals Hertha Berlin coach

The German football world is sitting up and taking notice of Ange Postecoglou, according to Hertha Berlin coach Thomas Broich.

The youth coach previously worked with the Celtic boss as a player at Brisbane Roar.

The former German Under 21-international made the move to Australia in 2010 to join Ange's side after a spell at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Former Australian national boss Postecoglou has surprised many this season, steering a completely rebuilt Celtic side to six points clear at the top of the Premiership.

And Broich says his Bundesliga contemporaries are watching his efforts in Scotland very closely.

The Hertha Berlin coach lavished praise for his former boss during an interview with Optus Sport : “Yeah, they are actually (noticing Postecoglou in Germany).

"It was really weird because when he worked in Japan, obviously, he won the league.

"I think they were 15 points clear of the rest of the pack.

"And then they played Man City in a friendly, and they had more than 60 per cent of the ball and all that.

“I kept talking about this guy and everybody was like, ‘Yeah, but this is Australia, this is Japan’. And now that he has arrived in Europe, I can actually show them clips using Wyscout and all those tools.

"And I’m like: ‘This is what he’s doing. This was against Rangers and look at the chances they created. Look at the second goal they scored’.

"It’s just fantastic football, like build-up play from the keeper, rotations everywhere, the defence, they don’t even know who to follow. They’re getting destabilised like crazy.
