Ange Postecoglou calls for VAR as Celtic boss in epic quip after Jota flattens Steven Naismith

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou was spotted making a cheeky request for VAR to intervene after Jota's accidental clash with Hearts gaffer Steven Naismith.

The use of video technology in the Scotttish Premiership was back in the headlines after Hearts' defender Alex Cochrane saw red just before the break at Tynecastle. Referee Nick Walsh was sent to the monitor by Willie Collum in the VAR room before changing an initial booking for a foul on Daizen Maeda into a red card - but before the flashpoint Postecoglou had his own tongue-in-cheek request for Collum to get involved.

Winger Jota was chasing down the ball and Cammy Devlin, but drifted off the pitch as he attempted to get his footing. That saw him collide with Hearts boss Naismith with the interim gaffer sent tumbling to the floor following the incident. After the tumble, both dugout saw the funny side. Postecoglou was spotted sharing a laugh with the Hearts dugout.

The Celtic boss then jokingly mimicid the rectangle motion used by officials to signal they are going to the monitor to check an incident. At half-time, Sky Sports pundit Stiylian Petrov sarcastically added: "That's a yellow card, I tell you that." James McFadden added: 'I'm more thinking that's a sore one for Steven Naismith."
