Ange Postecoglou borrows from Celtic playbook as Tottenham boss bristles at interviewer over Cristian Romero inquiry

He became known for his spiky interview style during his time at Celtic - and Ange Postecoglou looks to have carried that with him to north London.

The Tottenham boss led his side to a 2-2 draw against Brenford in his first English Premier League clash since leaving the hot seat at the Scottish Premiership champions after a hectic summer. The all-out attacking style was on show to Spurs fans for the first time at the Gtech Community Stadium just 24 hours after talisman Harry Kane was unveiled as a Bayern Munich player.

But it was the angry reaction of Cristian Romero - who had opened the scoring for Spurs in the first showdown of the season - to being taken off that dominated the talking points in his post-match Sky Sports debrief. Shortly after finding the net signs of concussion were displayed by the centre-back and Davinson Sanchez replaced the defender.

After a conversation with Postecoglou, he threw a shirt on the deck as he stormed down the tunnel. But the former Parkhead boss appeared in no mood to answer questions on the topic when he issued a blunt response to a poser on the spat.

He said sharply: "I think it was quite evident that he hit his head. We are in an era where we know about these things and I'm not a doctor.

"Any time where these things happen we protect the players. They don't know themselves what is going wrong. The disappointing thing for me is that apparently we filed the wrong paperwork for a concussion sub. In this day and age a piece of paper is not what is important, but there was no hesitation in taking him off."
