Ange is facing Tottenham 'shambles' already after Harry Kane played dumb and left boss in transfer lurch

Harry Kane and Daniel Levy are to blame for the "shambolic" situation already facing Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.

That's the view of pundit Chris Sutton who reckons the timing of the striker's imminent move to Bayern Munich couldn't have been worse for the former Celtic boss. Kane is set to complete an £86m move to Germany and bring an end to the saga which has been an unwanted distraction all summer despite Postecoglou's reluctance to acknowledge it or point any fingers.

A veiled dig at Bayern who were told to 'do what they want' was as spiky as it got but Sutton reckons behind the scenes, he'll have sensed the inevitable was coming. And the Record Sport columnist can't help but feel the manner of Kane's exit from Tottenham has left a bitter taste, even if he can't grudge him the chance to go to the Bundesliga and win trophies.

Sutton told the Daily Mail: "Harry Kane was a one-season wonder. Then he did it for another season. Then another. And another. Until finally he was accepted as an every-season wonder for Tottenham. Even Arsenal fans would have to agree he is a fantastic footballer. Yet if he departs now, this leaves a bitter taste.

"Not because I begrudge Kane being interested in going to Bayern Munich. A striker as good as that should have trophies to show for his goals.

"But because of how this was dropped on Ange Postecoglou the day before the start of the new Premier League season. Postecoglou will have known this was a possibility for some time, yet for confirmation of Bayern's accepted offer to arrive now, it's shambolic.
