Ange borrows from Celtic playbook at Tottenham as familiar Postecoglou mantra leaves Parkhead diehard unsurprised

Celtic fan Shay Given reckons he has seen Ange Postecoglou take his Parkhead mantra to Tottenham after a relentless start to life in the Premier League.

The Australian has led Spurs to their most successful start to a league season since 1965 after leaving Celtic Park behind for his shot at the English top flight. His latest success was a dramatic turnaround against Sheffield United which saw Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski net in the 98th and 100th minute. The late show in North London sparked wild celebrations as Postecoglou's side made it four wins from five league games to remain two points behind champions Manchester City as they pitch themselves as early title contenders.

It's caught many by surprise down south but it is all too familiar to former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Given who reckons he has seen similar turnarounds from Postecoglou in the Scottish Premiership - and the players bought into his "we never stop" mantra. The phrase became synonymous with the boss and his Hoops side during his two years in Glasgow and pundit Given reckons he has taken it to Tottenham.

He told Sky Sports after the remarkable victory over Paul Heckingbottom's side: “I followed Ange Postecoglou a lot at Celtic actually and the job he did there was phenomenal. And he had a motto ‘we never stop’. That was the motto. Day in and day out with the players, then you get the goals and the goals are so late (against Sheffield United). I don’t think he has surprised me, it’s quite refreshing.

“He has joined Tottenham, who are a big club, but Celtic are a big club as well. He has joined Spurs and he wants to prove to everyone that he really is a top manager.
