Ange asks for only one thing from his Tottenham dissenters as under-fire boss comes out firing

Ange Postecoglou is adamant Tottenham MUST suffer if they are to be the team he wants them to be and asked for evidence of great rebuilds which didn't suffer from snagging.

The Spurs boss was hailed as a breath of fresh air when he started implementing his all action style after making the move from Celtic. But it now looks as if his English Premier League rivals have worked out how to exploit Plan A, and when Plan B is just executing Plan A better, then the North London outfit find themselves in something of a rut.

Three defeats on the bounce have seen Spurs ship nine goals. Newcastle turned them over 4-0 at St James' before the Arsenal threatened to embarrass them on derby day. A second half salvage job fell short, but did manage a cosmetic job on the scoreline, turning a 3-0 half-time deficit into a more respectable 3-2 loss. The latest defeat to Chelsea at Stamford bridge saw the Aussie lose his rag after one too many backwards passes in the first half.

But Postecoglou insists he's not concerned and that tough spells are part of the process when trying to build something that will last. He said: "It's not a concern. It's part of the process. As I said, it's where we're at. You need to understand when there is change, it's not easy, it's not smooth and it's not supposed to be.

"If you're really going to build for success, you need to go through tough times. You don't go out trying to fashion them, you don't create the tough times on purpose but you have to go through them. If someone can show me a team that hasn't been through a tough spell when they're building something, I would be very surprised because it's a necessary part of the process."
