Andy Walker names ideal Celtic midfield 3 as pundit spells out derby day importance for Hoops and Rangers

Andy Walker reckons a Celtic win at Ibrox would set them on the road to league glory - but predicts the same fate for Rangers should they emerge victorious.

That is the magnitude of the 90 minutes on show at Ibrox this Sunday as Brendan Rodgers and Philippe Clement lock horns in a huge title showdown. The Hoops currently hold a one point lead at the summit - but have played one game more than the Light Blues. Victory for either side would put them in control and the destiny of the title in their own hands.

Walker reckons Rangers face that 'big hurdle' in front of their own fans as they and Clement bid for a first derby success. He believes doing so would make them massive favourites with the games ticking away quickly. He explained on the Go Radio Football Show: "When you look at recent results it tends to be the team in form. It is a big hurdle for Rangers and Philippe Clement to get over. Get your first win.

"If they do they will be massive favourites because the confidence that is gained from a win on Sunday is enormous. At this stage of the season when there is not many games left. If Celtic win that will be them on the front foot, I don't think they would throw it away. If they draw it is still up for grabs. Obviously if Rangers get a win I don't think they would throw it away."

One man who could prove vital is Celtic skipper Callum McGregor. He is still touch and go with his fitness a concern but Walker reckons if he is fit he HAS to be pitched in as he has seen it all before in these big games. The pundit also reckons he makes up part of the Hoops' best midfield three alongside Matt O'Riley and Reo Hatate.

He continued: "If he is fit it is a big boost and bonus for Celtic. He has been there, seen it and done it.
