Andre Onana reveals what Manchester United players said to each other before Luton nearly equalised

Goalkeeper Andre Onana admitted Manchester United's players were determined to avoid any late agony in Sunday's 2-1 win over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

United recorded a fourth successive Premier League win for the first time this season courtesy of a first-half double from Rasmus Hojlund. The Dane, who has now scored in each of his last six league appearances, put the Reds in front in the opening minute.

He added his and United's second just six minutes later, diverting in Alejandro Garnacho's effort from the edge of the box. Luton, however, responded well to that double setback, getting on the scoresheet through Carlton Morris just seven minutes later.

Though United had chances to add to their tally after half-time, squandering great opportunities through Bruno Fernandes and Garnacho, they were forced to work for all three points right up until the final blow of referee David Coote's whistle. Luton hit the crossbar in the dying seconds through Ross Barkley, who rose highest inside the box to meet a corner delivery.

Prior to that corner being swung in, Onana admitted United's players, who were inside the penalty area, were determined to defend it well and not let the points slip through their fingers.

"This is giving us more confidence (winning ugly)," Onana told MUTV. "We are happy when we win this kind of game because these three points are very important for us to fight to be in the top four.
